Joining the Uckfield Theatre Guild

The Uckfield Theatre Guild offers many fantastic opportunities to be a part of amateur musical theatre productions, whether it be on the stage or off of it. See how you could be a part of our exciting and vibrant mix of members and perhaps discover a hidden talent or invigorate a forgotten hobby.

We are eternally grateful for the contributions made by everyone involved but are always more than happy to welcome new members or people who can offer their services to help each production continue to be bigger and better than the last. There is always a lot more to each production than performing on the stage, see below for a few examples of how you can get involved.

Cast members

Of course, a production can't really happen without the actors and actresses who bring the script and music to life! We are always on the look-out for singers and dancers to join our experienced chorus members to help adorn those big numbers with a wash of colour and sound. Or perhaps you fancy a speaking role? Whether it be a one-liner or something more involved, we would love to see you at one of our rehearsals (see below for details).

Wardrobe assistants

With many of our members playing multiple characters each production, ensuring that all of our costumes are in order is no mean feat! From period costumes to flamboyant and vivid dance costumes, there are always plenty of opportunities for seamstresses and knitters to create new items and adapt existing costumes to meet the needs of the production.

Like all community projects, we are constantly in need of raising the necessary income in order to make a production feasible (they're rather expensive!). Whether it be a sponsored swim or an organised bike ride dressed as a zebra, we would love to benefit from your kindness (and potential madness!). Please contact us if you are thinking of supporting us at your next event.

Another great way of supporting the Uckfield Theatre Guild is by becoming a Patron. For just £10 a year, becoming a Patron will entitle you to a £2 discount on your ticket to one of our performances, a free glass of wine or juice at that performance, as well as advance notifications of our upcoming events. Additionally, with your permission, your name will be printed in our production programmes.

Rehearsals take place at Cornerstone Church, Uckfield on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 10pm. Simply pop along to a rehearsal to meet everyone or email and request an application form. We look forward to seeing you there!
